Findings:
- In 2017 - 1,47,912 people dead - due to accidents
- No decline , in rate of people who die per 100 accidents
- Cyclists/pedestrians fatality raised from 29% in 2016 to 37% in 2017.
Challenges in improving road safety:
- No professionalism , designing & maintaining quality roads & public transport
- Road safety councils , not able to change their bad record
- Police force lacks training
- Figures from road accidents are viewed as overestimates, there by lacking attention
- poorly performing policies & programmes
